It was proposed by the Chairman and agreed that the General Committee referred to above should consist of all signatories of the Appeal except those who had informed, or might inform Mr. Gull that they were unable to serve, and of such persons as the Committee might wish to co-opt.
The Secretary having reported that Sir John Hope Simpson would be unable to accept an invitation to be Chairman,
it was proposed by Dame Rachel Crowdy that Sir George Macdonogh should be elected Chairman of the General Committee. Sir George stated that, willing though he was to act in that capacity, it was impossible for him to do so. Dame Rachel Crowdy then proposed, Mr. Moreing seconded and it was agreed that Lord Donoughmore should be invited to be Chairman.
It was proposed by the Chairman and agreed that Sir Harold Fawcus should be Deputy Chairman of the General Committee.
After discussion of a list of persons tentatively suggested by Mr. Bernard it was agreed, upon the proposal of the Chairman, that the following should be members of the Executive Committee:·

Sir George Macdonogh's name was included in Mr. Bernard's suggestion but he stated that, to his great regret, he was unable to serve.
It was agreed that Sir Alan Anderson should be invited to serve on the Executive Committee; that the Committee should have power to co-opt and, upon the proposal of Mr. Curtis, that it should be empowered to elect its Chairman.
It was proposed by Mr. Bernard, seconded by Dr. Harold Balme and agreed that the Executive Committee should be empowered to appoint sub-committees, including a Finance Committee.
It was proposed by Mr. Bernard and agreed that the Executive Committee should meet on Monday, October 11th at 3 p.m. at the British Red Cross Society, 14, Grosvenor Crescent.
This was all the business of the meeting which w as immediately followed by a meeting of the General Committee, Sir George Macdonogh vacating the Chair.
